Praying For Your Child #5

January 17, 2013

Do you know someone who exhibits the Fruit of the Spirit?  Don’t they make a positive impact on the people around them?   Galatians 5:22-23  “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

I pray that you would teach my child to be loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good, gentle, faithful, and self-controlled.   iMOM

And a funny thing is people seldom exhibit some of the fruit of the Spirit.  I don’t know anyone who is loving joyful and peaceful who is not also patient, kind good…  This fruit flows out from the Tree of Life and forms the character in and through those to whom it flows.

Aren’t these the exact characteristics that you would like to see alive in your child?  Is there anything on this list that you don’t want to see in your child?   Daily ask God to graft His Spirit to the spirit of your child.  Ask boldly, because this is exactly what He would like to see in your child as well.

I pray that you would teach my child to be loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good, gentle, faithful, and self-controlled.    How could He possibly say no to a request like that?
