The plan for the rest of my life

January 29, 2011

John the Baptist, of whom Jesus said that there was none greater born of woman, (Matthew 11:11) says the following about Jesus, in John 3:30:

He must become greater; I must become less.

This is the assigned moment for him to move into the center, while I slip off to the sidelines.

He must increase, but I must decrease.

Jesus must become more important, while I become less important.

He must increase, but I must decrease. [He must grow more

prominent; I must grow less so.]

He must increase, but I must decrease.

If we can’t understand this point, we miss everything. I’m sorry if this disappoints you, but I can’t add a thing to that.
