What God thinks of you

August 3, 2009

Chapter 19 of 30 Ways in 30 Days to Save Your Family is so full of wisdom that it hardly needs commentary.  Think about this today.

“Teaching your children they have value in God’s eyes is the single greatest thing you can do for your kids.  Let them know that there is a God that loves them, that knows and calls them by name.  He knows how many hairs are on their head, how many concerns they have in their hearts, and what issues they struggle over.

If a child knows they have intrinsic value, just because he exists, then he begins to understand that his life has meaning and purpose.  Our children must know that they are important just as they are.  Kids who know they are of value are less likely to do drugs, less likely to sleep around, and able to gather a sense of purpose and mission for their futures.

And you know what else happens?  They begin to love, value and help others-just for who they are too.”  (page 183)
