We usually trip when we look back.

Williamsburg 05-08 - Day 1 & 2 119I’ve been thinking about God fighting my battles for me.  That’s awfully nice of him, wouldn’t you say?  When I was a kid I would have liked a friend like that.  Heck, as an adult it’s even more important.  If God’s fighting my enemies then I don’t have to.  I don’t have to have his back.  I can move forward.  It’s so much easier to “press on toward the prize for which I am called” when I don’t have to keep looking over my shoulder.  We usually trip when we look back.  Or we turn into a pillar of salt.

Do you know anyone who is bullied?  Tell them about this God who will fight for them.  It is a marvelous thing to understand that God will fight for the helpless and defend the weak. This is what our world needs more than ever.  This is what I need more than ever.  How about you?

A God of Grace and a God of  Justice at the same time.

Sometimes the biggest problem is that we have to know and admit that we are helpless and weak and get out of God’s way so He can defend us!
